Are you marketing to Peterborough customers?
If so, take advantage of the new and innovative Peterborough Farm Fresh website to drive more customers your way.
Visit peterboroughfarmfresh.ca and click My Farm Listing to create your farm profile as soon as possible. Promotion to the public has already begun in media throughout the area.
The advantages to you:
- Customers will find you by using a wide range of search criteria about your products (not just food) and/or experiences offered - and about your marketing channels eg farmgate, farmers markets, CSA, pick your own, marketing group with other farms...
- You can keep your own listing up to date at any time by logging in - update product selection or marketing channels, stores where your products are sold etc
- Once customers find you on a targeted search, they visit your own social media and website to find out more and buy from you
- You can indicate stores and restaurants that regularly buy from you. This is the only way they can be listed on the website, supporting you and the whole value chain.
- You do not need to post your physical address unless you want to
- Wholesale purchasers can find you through your wholesale listing (optional)
- Your search criteria are based only on products you produce on your farm - but if you have an on-farm store you can indicate that you re-sell for other farmers as well
- Peterborough Fam Fresh will be marketed locally all year round to consumers, using Local Food Peterborough social media and a direct link from localfoodptbo.ca
Promoting local farms has value for our community on an economic, social and environmental level. Let's all work together to build the food and farming sector we need.
Note: Based on feedback from the farm community, this website was created over the past few months by volunteers at non-profit Farms at Work and through the goodwill of Grassroots Design. While there is no charge for your listing this fall, we know from our survey last spring that farms understand we cannot survive by volunteering, any more than farms can survive without revenue. We will be putting together a plan that ensures we can continue to provide this support with everyone pitching in a bit.
Your feedback is welcome at info@farmsatwork.ca
