Farms at Work is a federally-incorporated non-profit organization and we expect to become a registered charity in early 2025. We are looking to grow our Board of Directors and are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join us for a three-year term. Read all about our work here!
Board members should have an interest in, or experience in, one or more of the following areas:
• Land Management
• Social Enterprise development
• Organizational Development
• Fundraising
• Financial Management
• Policy and/or Communications
We are seeking hands-on, hardworking people who will commit to rolling up their sleeves and pitching in when needed. Other characteristics that are highly valued include accountability, professionalism and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
We are striving to build a Board of Directors that represents the diversity of our region. This includes, but is not limited to, diversity of race, ethnicity, age, gender identity, geography and relevant lived experience.
Board members commit to
• attending approximately 8 meetings of the Board per year, held evenings or on weekends depending on length; not all meetings will be in-person
• corresponding as needed between meetings
• taking on responsibility for oversight in one or more areas of activity, generally as part of a team through a Committee of the Board
The total time commitment expected is a minimum of 5 hours per month, unless special projects are underway. Directors and Officers Insurance is in place.
