Spots have filled up quickly for our upcoming season extension farm tour at Chick-a-biddy Acres next weekend, but there are still a few spaces left. Join us as farmers Sherry Patterson and Josh Blank walk us through their farm business, outlining their season extension strategy along the way.

Utilizing passively heated greenhouses, the two have successfully expanded the business enough to integrate Josh as a full-time partner. Along with growing several cold-hardy field crops, Sherry and Josh are now able to produce fresh food year round for their 90 member CSA and the local marketplace.

If you’re a vegetable farmer looking to take full advantage of the still-adequate daylight hours of October and November, or would like to get an early start on the season in February and March, then this farm tour is meant for you!

Pre-registration is required as space is limited. Admission is $25 for individuals and $35 for pairs. Head on over to Survey Monkey to fill out a quick registration questionnaire. For more information, contact Jay Adam of Farms at Work: jay@farmsatwork.ca | 705-743-7671.
